Billionaire’s Dismembered Body found in Lagos Bush

Published

on

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of the dismembered body of a business mogul, Ignatius Adunukwe, from a bush in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

It was gathered that Adunukwe was about to sell a landed property to some supposed buyers when potential buyers allegedly kidnapped him.

It was learnt that the supposed buyers and Adunukwe had agreed on a date and location to meet to perfect the transaction, but the suspects took advantage of the situation to whisk the Enugu State indigene away.

The suspects were said to have coerced the billionaire into signing the agreement for the transaction, after which he was reportedly strangled and injected with a lethal substance in a hotel room in Ajah.

Adunukwe’s corpse was dismembered, and the parts were reportedly packed into a bag and dumped in a bush in a bid to conceal the crime.

Chronicling the circumstances surrounding the death of the billionaire on Instagram, a lawyer, identified merely as Smart Law, stated that efforts by Adunukwe’s personal lawyer to accompany him to the meeting point proved abortive.

He said when Adunukwe was nowhere to be found, a case of a missing person was reported to the police and personnel were detailed to commence an investigation into the incident.

Smart Law’s post on Instablog9ja read in part, “How the billionaire owner of Fireman Generator was murdered and his body stacked inside a bag.

“Chief Ignatius Odunukwe, who went missing since the first week of December 2019, has been found dead.

“The story had it that the billionaire was killed by his assailants, cut into pieces and his body packed into a Ghana-must-go bag, took to the expressway and dumped inside a forest. The sum of N900m and original documents collected from him.

“Some criminals, who pretended to be land buyers, drew his attention requesting to purchase property since he had one for sale. The deal was concluded and having agreed on the purchase price, and the agreement was drafted by his lawyer.

“Both parties agreed to meet on an agreed date and place for the exchange of money and signing of documents, that’s when the whole drama unfolded. Chief Odunukwe’s lawyers suggested going with him for the perfection of the deal, but he declined on the ground that he needed to see someone at Ikoyi Club and that was the last time he was seen alive.

“When the billionaire could not return home, his family reported the incident to the police and investigation commenced. It is always good to disclose your movements to your family. It was his lawyer who unveiled the whole deal to the police.”

However, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Ahmed Iliyasu, said at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday that Adunukwe’s family petitioned the command and narrated their trauma regarding his sudden disappearance, adding that he detailed personnel to go after the abductors.

He stated that four suspects, Daniel Ibeaji, 42; Arinze Igwe, 26; Solomon Cletus, 30; and Israel Obigaremu, 35, were arrested in connection with the crime.

He added that one medical identification card, an axe, remains of the victim in a bag, three AK-47 rifles, one pump action gun, one Ford SUV and property documents belonging to the victim, one Toyota Corolla car, a Nissan salon car, three Tecno phones, four Nokia phones, two Samsung phones and one Bontel phone were recovered from the suspects.

According to him, Adunukwe left his residence at No. 14 Maduke Street, off Raymond Njoku Street, Ikoyi, Lagos, on December 1, 2019, and never returned home.

Iliyasu said the victim was declared missing, noting that he was strangled and injected with a lethal substance in a hotel room in Ajah.

Iliyasu stated, “The suspects specialise in hacking into unsuspecting members of the public’s Facebook accounts and the moment a person responds to a friendship request, the person is a ready-made target. Daniel Ibeaji, who claimed to be a medical doctor, is the kingpin of the syndicate.

“It was Ibeaji, who approached the late Adunukwe with a business proposal to the tune of N900m, following which they fixed an appointment for the Artican Beach Resort, Ajah, Lagos, having asked the three other suspects to be on red alert for that operation.

“After cajoling Adunukwe into signing the agreed documents, he lured him to his hotel room. In the hotel room, Ibeaji instructed one of his boys to fetch him a bag and pretended as if he wanted to hand over the money to the victim.

“As the victim was about to open the bag, Ibeaji grabbed him from behind, while one of the boys hit the victim with an axe in the back of his head. Ibeaji then dragged Adunukwe into the toilet, strangled him and with the assistance of his boys, who held the victim down, injected him twice with a lethal substance. Convinced that the deed had been done, Ibeaji gave directives to the boys to evacuate the corpse and throw it away.”

One of the suspects, Cletus, said Igwe, who was a former worker in the hotel where the crime was perpetrated, directed them to take the corpse through the back door.

He said, “It was Igwe, who directed us, and we moved the body through the back door of the hotel and the laundry area. We chopped the body between 7 pm and 8 pm, and it was within that same hour that we dumped him in the bush as the hotel is not far away from where the corpse was dumped.

“Ibeaji was the person who hit him before he asked us to go and kill him.”

The other suspects confirmed their involvement in the crime.

Iliyasu said Ibeaji was also involved in the murder of a commissioner in Bayelsa State, one Depologa, whose remains were found on the Abuja Expressway.

He said Ibeaji’s second victim was one Jude Efulue, a property developer in Abuja, who swam into Ibeaji’s net and was held captive in an apartment and forced to sign a prepared document transferring the ownership of the victim’s property to him.

“He planned to kill Efulue after sweeping his account clean. But with the help of neighbours, who called the police, Bob and his boys were apprehended and charged accordingly. It was at the Kuje Prison, where Cletus was also serving a jail term that he and Ibeaji met, and they reunited after leaving the prison to execute this cowardly act,” Iliyasu added.

The AIG said Ibeaji was currently undergoing trial at the Apo High Court in Abuja for two similar cases.

June 15, 2020, the day I can never forget-Emma Ike Agu

Published

As a Nigerian-American International award-winning songster, musicologist, and music producer, I choose to live a tranquil life. I am very private and also lead and keep a low-profile lifestyle. It is my choice, for I believe nothing in this universe is worth all the commotion and noise we witness regularly.
Life itself is a bitch; there are so many things that happen around us that overwhelm us. Things nobody can explain.
Everywhere you look, all you see is mayhem. Inside the United States, every minute you turn on your television to watch the news, all we see and hear is mass shootings. When one gets tired of the eternal trouble inside America and wants to go back to Nigeria, folks will tell you to remain where you are. You could become a potential target to Armed Robbers, kidnappers, or even unknown shooters.
On June 15, 2020, something happened to me that transformed my life. One of the significant lessons I learned that day is that one has to be careful with fragile individuals. Some people act instantly on their impulses and do things that will make your life a living hell. Also, another takeaway that will follow me all the days of my life is that I have to choose my friends wisely. A lot of folks you call your friends are not deserving. There are vampires.
June 15, 2020, was a day I saw myself in danger. I came this close to losing my life over nothing. As crazy as some streets in New York City are, I have never had any issues with anyone. I followed the law and obeyed all rules and regulations. June 15, 2020, almost erased my excellent records. Although I survived that day with minor bruises and cops swarming around me to help, the incident still lingers on my mind. It was a very terrible day that you don’t wish for anyone.

To all my fans, get ready for my new songs, which will soon hit the music scene. As I always do, you are the judge when the song hits you.

My Whatsapp line that ends in ‘6000’ is hacked!-Emma IK AGU

In the last six months, I have been a target of hundreds of online scam bags. Today, a particular individual who said he is the Secretary of the Arewa Journalists group hacked my Wattsapp. He told me at a specific time; they will be holding a meeting. He sent me a code, and since I was multi-tasking, I did so little to do a verification. I began getting calls from family, friends, and fans all over the world. I was assured they knew my account was hacked,
I was added to this group by Abraham Awodi, a well-respected Nigerian Journalist based in Abuja. Abraham Awodi was at one time the correspondence of my now rested Nigerian FM, Abuja bureau. Within minutes my account got hijacked; I called Abraham Awodi only to get his voice mail. I also got in touch with few people in Abuja to block this particular line from sending messages to their groups. One is fortunate to have Ministers, Governors, Music, and movie stars in my contact. Over the years, folks know who I am and know fully well; I spent my time exposing internet criminals.
The attempt by these folks to tarnish my good name, which I spent my life to build, will never succeed. I happen to be a man of high principle who never backs down. Whoever planned this has already murdered his (their) sleep.

A strange Inauguration eve: why this night’s so different-AGU writes.

Earlier in the day, I saw the incoming President, Joe Biden, wept openly. I equally saw a woman, a staunch member of Qanon, who said President Biden would be arrested and won’t be sworn in as the President.

Many of us quarreled, fought, and became enemies and passionately supported our candidates. In the next 12 hours or less, a new President will be sworn in. Let's bury the hatchets and be friends again. In politics, they say, there's no permanent friendship but permanent interest.

Washington DC is like a City under a military siege, right at this hour. I was an eye witness on the eve of then-President-elect Obama’s swearing-in ceremony. I got selected to headline the African Inaugural Ball; the day was the 19th of January 2009. I performed to honor the incoming President around 1.a.m Eastern time.

After my performance, the entire crew rode freely amid thousands of folks to Capital Hill, where the swearing-in ceremony would occur. We also visited Baily’s house, where the Obamas stayed on the eve of his swearing-in ceremony. Our next port of call was the White house. I can never forget when a White Secret Service agent told me bluntly not to pass through his ‘yard.’ That night, around 3.a.m, President Bush and his family had their last night in the White House.
Thousands of people camped out at the national mall and folks who kept coming from different directions.

Corona Virus memorial-Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

It was around 4.a.m that I drove back to New York City, leaving my crew behind in Washington D.C. I don’t have a word to describe what I saw as I saw thousands of people smiling, singing, and dancing in the streets. People partied across the United States all night long. Candidate Obama had mesmerized and dazzled a distressed nation with messages of hope. You can see that millions of people hoped that Obama would succeed after the economy took a turn for the worse.

Millions of people had lost their jobs. Companies went out of business.
A vast majority of Americans saw the President-Elect, Barrack Obama, who campaigned with a catchy phrase that says ‘Hope you can believe in,’ put their hopes on him. The man went to work as soon as he got sworn in; there was no drama, no scandal. Obama and Biden worked for the American people, who gave them a mandate. Obama, just like every other mortal out there, is not a perfect man; some of his policies, as controversial as they were, he dug the nation out of a hole. His detractors agreed.
Tonight as the United States people mourn the deaths of over four hundred thousand lives lost due to the coronavirus, Washington D.C is a no-go area. With over twenty thousand members of the national guard in military Kakis, their hands on the long guns, this night is the complete opposite of 2009 or even 2017 when the current President took over. The national guards are dealing with the harsh cold weather too. I don’t know how they do it, but this is hard. Imagine staying outside under this cold condition? Horrible. You can see hundreds of them sleeping on the bare floor. How do they even eat or shower under this condition? I salute these men and women who put their lives in harm’s way for us.

The national Guards, all over the City

I remain grateful that I witnessed history in 2009, by every standard, Kamala Harris’s rise from slum to become the Vice president lect is historic. She was born and raised like an ordinary child out there. She rose from nothing to become somebody. Kamala also went to a regular school like every other poor kid in our neighborhood. The man who selected her ( President- Elect Joe Biden) is also an ordinary American whose parents lived from paycheck to paycheck. Many of us quarreled, fought, and became enemies and passionately supported our candidates. In the next 12 hours or less, a new President will be sworn in. Let’s bury the hatchets and be friends again. In politics, they say, there’s no permanent friendship but permanent interest.

It is an unusual night, surreal, frightful, and unprecedented in so many ways. Historians will never refer to this transition as a peaceful transfer of power. It reminds me of a military take over in Banana Republics. This night in Washington, D.C, looks nothing like an inauguration eve; it is a sad night. Earlier in the day, I saw the incoming President, Joe Biden, wept openly. I equally saw a woman, a staunch member of Qanon, who said President Biden would be arrested and won’t be sworn in as the President. Guys, these are challenging times; please pray for the United States, the land of the impossibilities.

Lil Wayne and Donald Trump

Trump’s final act in office is the pardoning of so many people including rappers. The plan to pardon Young Money boss, Lil Wayne has been put in motion.

Yesterday, the 18th of January, Trump’s administration put in place, article No. 45, as stated by media giant Bloomberg. The news was leaked by an anonymous source in Trump’s cabinet.

Lil Wayne amongst many other rappers, regardless of race, endorsed Trump during his failed 2020 elections, which was well reciprocated by the outgoing President.

The charge emanated from a December of 2019 incident in which Wayne was stopped at the Miami Airport by police who discovered a gold-plated Remington 1911, .45-caliber handgun loaded with six rounds of ammunition, personal use amounts of cocaine, ecstasy, and oxycodone in the rapper’s bag. He was charged with possession of a firearm in November of 2020.
